Enraptured by Cashmere

Fashion-forward individuals have long coveted the comfort and luxuriousness of cashmere in sweaters, jackets and other garments. Cashmere is an extremely soft fabric made from the coat of the cashmere goat, native to Kashmir in northwestern India. Because of the rather limited yield produced by the animals, cashmere is a luxury and garments inclusive of cashmere tend to be more prestigious, and as such, more expensive.

A designer known for his extensive use of cashmere is Nicola Luccarini. This Italian native began his fashion work after graduating from the Instituto di Moda Florenzia in 1986. Two years later, Luccarini was operating freelance from his own studio in Bologna where he began working as a stylist with major knitting companies, such as Max & Co., Trussardi Sport and other brands notable throughout Europe. Since 1995, Luccarini has also collaborated with yarn companies, where he is now sought after as the main creative reference for new collections.
