The Mod Squad: Latest fashion trends draw on designs of the ’60s

Bright colors n Bold shapes n Geometric patterns

Rosemary Ford
THE EAGLE-TRIBUNE (NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.)

In the ’60s, they called it “Mod” — bright colors, accented with bold geometric shapes and patterns.

In 2007, we call it the look for spring and summer. Mod is back on the runway and store shelves with a bang.

Don’t run out and revamp your entire wardrobe — you can still see those Bohemian looks from last spring on the fashionistas. And this year, you’ll also find fashionistas in nautical looks.

We scoured local shops to find looks that will keep you in style while achieving that Mod feel. Some fashions may break your bank, some may not.

We brought our picks to the decidedly modern Monarch on the Merrimack lofts, under construction in Lawrence. We loved the urban feel of the place, from its unfinished interiors to its furnished model unit.

Enjoy.
